Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 20 Spanish speakers students ready to overcome any challenge, including had been severely affected by Harvey. They want to prove that with just a little support, their ability to learn is amazing.
My students are always eager to learn and apply their knowledge in their every day lives.
They, like most kindergarten students, enjoy discovering and learning. For many of them after hurricane Harvey, basic needs and and emotional stress has been present. I would like to make school experience as fun and successful as possible.
My Project
My students will apply for classroom jobs; from dusting, vacuuming, organizing books, cleaning tables, etc. All kind of jobs that will teach them responsibility, and at the same time how money is earn in the real world. Students will be responsible for the same job for a week and on Fridays they will get paid for their week.
Students will have the opportunity to save, give or buy something from our little store; that will be set in our own classroom.
They will learn very valuable financial skills, at the same time that will be practicing their counting, money and coins recognition, adding and subtracting.
