Help me give my students an innovative tool to engage them and provide them a voice with a QBall, an interactive throwable microphone that will make learning more fun in music class.

My first graders are awesome! They are explorers and they are constantly on the move. My school is a place where teachers work hard to educate children from the inside out, emphasizing holistic learning to enhance student growth. We emphasize being safe, being kind, being respectful and being responsible each day in our little classroom. I work with 20 amazing and hardworking students who are extremely eager to learn, participate, and support each other's learning throughout the day.
Our school is a Title I school that serves many military families that are connected to Fort Bragg and 100% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
We are a low wealth district in Cumberland county.
My class is full of students with a variety of interests, experiences, needs, and strengths. With the resources and structure they need to apply their curiosity, they will continue to develop into strong learners and balanced individuals. I may not be able to control their home lives, but I really try to provide meaningful and memorable experiences for them every day.
Every student has a voice that needs to be heard! A Qball is a fun way for each voice to be heard in an engaging manner that is going to increase participation, discussions, and student achievement. The teacher throws the soft ball and when a student catches it, they sing/ talk into the ball microphone so that way the entire class gets to hear what that student has to say. My students always have a lot to say and this is a way for them to be heard and to contribute during our music resource time.
The Qball is a progressive, action-oriented learning tool that engages and encourages participation of all students.
This technology integrates the Four Cs of Education (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity). Using the Qball in the classroom engages the whole student body. This interactive project promotes personal interaction and strengthens inclusion. I currently have a student that is extremely shy, but loves music. The Qball just may be the key to letting her voice as well as all of our voices be heard.
