My students need items from Lakeshore including Science Discovery Chest, Weather and Seasons Instant Learning Center, and a Can Do! Science Discovery Kit Set to enrich our Science curriculum.
What was your favorite subject in Kindergarten? If you said Science, you would fit right in with my students. They love Science, especially hands-on activities.
I teach Kindergarten at a Title I Elementary School.
We educate children who come from primarily low income, single parent background. The majority of our students receive free or reduced lunch. However, our students strive to do the best they can with their limited resources. They work hard each and every day to do their personal best. Our mission is "to provide a quality education in a safe environment where all children can succeed."
My students need items from Lakeshore including Science Discovery Chest, Weather and Seasons Instant Learning Center, and Can Do! Science Discovery Kit Set to enrich our Science curriculum. These materials will be used to provide an engaging, hands-on Science curriculum. As an educator, I know that young children learn best by doing. These materials will allow our young learners to "do" Science. My students will be able to explore Life Cycles, Weather and Seasons, Magnetism, and much more through these materials.
Instead of just reading or discussing these topics, they can experience them. Through experience the topics, the abstract concepts will become concrete concepts, which results in a deeper understanding. These experiences will also enrich our Science curriculum and cement their knowledge.
The opportunities available through hands-on activities are endless.
All children will be successful in understanding the curriculum. They will also be able to expand their knowledge. The engaging, hands-on curriculum these materials will provide is essential to giving all students a strong Science foundation for the rest of their school career.
