Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Ballet Folklorico is a new club at our school that teaches students how to dance some of Mexico's traditional dances. My students are beginning dancers between the ages of nine and twelve. They are eager to learn about all styles and genres of dance. We currently dance in a room that does not have a dance floor, and I am eager to provide my students with the materials necessary to dance safely and effectively.

Dancing is an excellent outlet for my young students, especially after the socially damaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now more than ever before, my students crave the opportunity to interact with their peers; my dance class provides them with the unique chance to dance and express themselves alongside their school companions.

Having a dance floor that they can practice on for their performance and competition would dramatically increase the quality of learning my students experience. A proper dance floor would also protect my students from injuries by offering them an extra layer of support that our current concrete floor does not provide. Thank you for considering my students for this project!
