My students live in rural areas outside Little Rock, Arkansas. My students come from diverse backgrounds and have very different interests, but art brings them together.
They always find creative ways to explore what they are passionate about in their artwork and love experimenting with new methods and materials.
They enjoy learning traditional and new media. They love sharing their work with each other, and printmaking allows them to keep a copy of their work and share them with others.
My Project
My students are eager to learn about new materials and how to market their artwork. After researching contemporary artists, they have become intrigued by how technology is being incorporated to enhance traditional methods.
Having access to a laser engraver will allow students to explore modern technology in creating art, making concept models, plan and produce goods to market for fundraising.
This equipment can be used for students to create 3D works, stencils, block prints, and more. It will also enable them to create professional looking products while experiencing the entire design process, as well as learning about cost, skill, and materials in selling their creations.
