My students are creative thinkers and explorative learners who thrive on learning through different modes of instruction. My students range from ages 5-8 all with varying abilities and needs. We are a part of an inclusive school setting that believes in the co-teaching model approach. My students work together to learn school routines, expected behaviors and how to navigate through challenging social situations. My students are engaged, motivated and more successful with making connections to newly learned concepts when interactive activities and visual supports are provided.
My Project
My students will benefit from the items in this project by being able to read books that discuss COVID-19, and share how to stay healthy and safe. The timers will also help my students to visually see how long they need to wash their hands to keep them clean. My students will be able to reference the books to see other students and adults wearing masks within their daily routine to help them feel more comfortable with mask wearing.
My students will be able to make connections with the stories to help them better understand how germs spread and how we can protect ourselves to stay healthy.
