Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My diverse classroom is full of a mixture of 4th & 5th grade kiddos who are energetic, smart, and loving! They all come from extremely diverse backgrounds, experiences, and families and do their best to overcome what struggles they have. Our school is approximately 97% poverty rate, so this donation would be incredible for my students to experience even more engaging lessons in our classroom! My students are so respectful and take care of anything I give to them (i.e. even if it is only a pencil).
My kids do not have the technology opportunities at home and we have very limited technology access at school.
An iPad would allow my students to learn visual and auditory information that will support them in mastering their Individualized Education Goals (IEP).
They are the sweetest group of kids any teacher could ever want and I'm just the lucky one who gets to teach them every day. All of them open my eyes to new things each and every day and show me not to take anything for granted. They deserve this donation as another way for them to reach a higher education and reach their fullest learning potential.
My Project
My students would benefit from having a protective iPad cover on our classroom iPad that was AMAZINGLY fully-funded by Donors on DonorsChoose.org. They will be able to utilize a stand so they can effectively collaborate with their classmates while working together on our classroom iPad.
This will make a learning difference in our classroom because my students can freely enjoy their learning time on the iPad without having to worry about dropping it!
They also will have the choice to stand it up to learn how to share with peers appropriately!
Our students are of low income families and we as teacher are constantly buying pencils for our classrooms. The students can utilize their desk pencil holders so they do not loose ones given to them. This will minimize students getting frustrated when they are asked to have a pencil with them to complete their work with! Flexible bands and a seat will also help them stay concentrated and focused in order to learn to their fullest potential!
