Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group. We have a great balance of ethnicities and a varied range of socioeconomic households represented in our school.

Our class learns in stations and groups, It's a beautiful moment to see kids forget a status and work in meaningful harmony alongside someone they may have never known otherwise.

I teach 8th Grade Pre-AP Science and 7th Grade Accelerated Science.

The students are motivated and eager to learn more about designing, coding, and commanding robots.

My Project

The technology materials I am requesting are essential to building and designing a tech-savvy classroom where students can build, program, and command their own Lego Mindstorms Robot. The Mindstorms EV3 is easy to learn and will be encouraging to those students who may have never considered programming and coding as a career.

Lego Mindstorms EV3 makes building, programming and commanding robots smarter, faster, and more fun to learn than ever.

Providing students with opportunities to learn the basics of building/designing and coding/programming robots allows for students to engage in meaningful collaborative roles.

Students will gain insight into what it is like to work on an Engineering team.
