Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free or reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are energetic learners. They are eager to learn in cooperative groups throughout the school day.
Having binder clips, paper clips, card stock, and markers will help them to create stories and publish at the writing center.
My students work at the writing center each and every day. They come up with wonderful stories. I'd love for them to be able to share them with their families at home. Students go to the writing center to publish writing pieces that they have worked on in writer's workshop center.
Students need white cardstock to write their stories on and illustrate them to bring them to life. Using white cardstock will give their story more durability. They need colored cardstock to create their cover to their writing piece. Having colorful card stock will make it easier for them to bring their writing piece to life and give it extra durability. They need colorful thick markers to write the title of their story on their cover and to write their name as the author and illustrator of the story.
They need binder clips to keep their stories together until they are ready to staple their final copies together to take home. I'm excited to have this project funded for my students so they can bring their writing pieces home and have their families cherish them as a keepsake.
