I teach at Richmond High School, a public school serving the students of Richmond, Indiana.
My students, representing grades 9-12 and all levels of French, are energetic, motivated, and inquisitive! They love learning the French language and learning about Francophone cultures!
My students are diverse and represents various socioeconomic backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations.
My Project
Last year was tough. Like many students throughout the country, my students experienced a not-so-normal school year: they attended every other day, had e-Learning on days when they were not physically in the classroom, and they struggled to stay motivated. Despite these challenges, my students gave it their all! They remained curious, hardworking, and did their best!
Last year, I celebrated the end-of-the-year with a snow cone party --- making more than 300 snow cones!
We also learned snow cone related vocabulary in French, such as ice, syrups and their flavors, and French treats/desserts in general. My students and students from other classrooms stopped by for an end-of-the-year treat! This year, I'd like to do the same! Your support of my project will ensure that I am able to provide my students with another celebration this year!
