My Students

Do you remember ever throwing out paper cups and feeling guilty that you were not being good to the environment?

I teach first graders in a Title 1 School located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.

All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. At the present time only a small percentage of my students are at the proper reading and math level. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.

My Project

In honor of Earth Day, I want to teach my students to be good to the earth. I would like to get each of them a travel mug so that they are not wasteful with paper supplies. These water mugs would also help my 6 and 7 year old students with staying hydrated and healthy. I would like to teach them to be good to the earth and to use recycled materials.

Please help my first graders be good to the earth by reusing water travel cups.

It would be wonderful if my little ones could learn to be environmental sound at such a young age. This would be a life long lesson.
