I have the privilege of teaching preschool in a public school setting. My classroom consists of children with developmental delays and typically developing children. The materials provided will be distributed to students who are coming to school in person. Our students have shown immense resilience through all of the changes and restrictions this year has brought to their Education.
The students in our preschool program are inquisitive and kindhearted learners who benefit from play based instruction, which requires sensory, art, dramatic play, building and movement activities as well other immersive experiences.
My Project
My students love our Block Area! We are currently doing a "Building" study and learning so much about structures, materials, careers and types of buildings. These new block materials will be used at the carpet, light table and for projects in Dramatic play!
Block play supports conversational skills as well as turn taking, fine and gross motor abilities and imagination!
The rainbow architect builder set will challenge our students problem solving abilities as they balance and create countless set ups. I plan to include books as a resource with these materials, as well as paper and crayons for students to create blueprints.
