My Students
We have 100% free lunch and many of the students live in shelters, and face many challenges on a daily basis. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day.I am constantly looking for ways to inspire and build a love of reading in all my students.
My Project
Having literature the teaches that passion and perseverance can make an enormous difference, is key to success in the classroom and in life.
With these wonderfully written books, students will be motivated to persist and achieve!
. I want all of our students to learn how to develop a positive growth mindset. I want to provide the students with the tools they need to implement the ideas about positive thinking. I'm hoping to create a growth mindset thinking culture.
Having educational books that are age appropriate that display ways in which to grow our brains is imperative to building an accessible library for my students.
