My Students
My class is a developmental class with ages 3-5, so these little people are not only building the foundations of learning and socializing, but they are also challenged by speech delays, health impairments, autism, learning delays and other obstacles that they must overcome first to be their best selves.
Do not be mistaken by these impairments, because these kids amaze me everyday.
Their determination and efforts, laughs and tears, break troughs and struggles inspire many. It warms my heart to get a non-verbal student and to see them graduate with the ability to chat you up all day. The parents fondly remember days that they didn't talk much. I love my kids like they were my own.
My Project
Sometimes social emotional, interaction with peers and sharing is a goal in a students IEP. With current world conditions interaction with peers from other classes is not allowed so teachers are tasked with keeping students busy and engaged with the same peers day after day. These Jumbo Logs will make a great team activity as well as encouraging the use of imagination and engineering. These logs are made of durable plastic to hold up but will not hurt should the house be poorly built. lol. They are also easily cleaned and sanitized by today's standards.
