My twenty first grade students are writing every day, using techniques such as journal writing, friendly letters, and book making to help them become fluent and effective writers. They are especially proud of the books that they make, and I would like to have a book binding machine to provide them with a more professional look to their creations. The students constantly read and reread the books that they make, and they are very proud of their efforts. For many of the children, the books that they create in school are the only ones that they have to read at home. Some of the books have fallen apart due to lack of appropriate bindings, and this disappoints the students. I am asking for a book binding machine, plastic bindings, and book cover sheets to help the students make books that are longer lasting. They are so proud of being young authors, and I want their creative energies to continue as they write and create every day.
