My students are yearning for activities to express their unique personalities through art!
They LOVE art and need more exposure to art projects that connect to their goals and state standards.
My class is made up of 9 amazing Special Education students.
They are an amazing group of children who, despite all of the challenges in their life, manage to put a smile on everyone's face every day. My school is located in a lower socioeconomic part of town and many of our students deal with poverty and the issue that it presents in their daily lives.
My Project
My students will be using the art supplies, paint cups, easels, aprons, and play dough, every day! We will be creating several projects each week that connect to our classroom objectives (IEP goals and state standards) of the week. We will also be using their art time for sensory exploration, expressing their individuality in the process. Last but not least, we will be using art to have FUN!
My students face difficulties in expressing themselves verbally because of their various disabilities.
