This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in a Title 1 library with some of the most amazing students and staff.
Our first and second graders are in need of some awesome new beginner chapter books.
They are being introduced to chapter books and so many of them are overwhelmed. We want to bring in some new books that include new characters and take them on new adventures.
Our students are becoming stronger readers with the support of our teachers and staff. We want to offer them books that will help with that.
My Project
These books would be a great addition to the older worn beginner chapter books in our library. Beginner chapter books are needed in our collection. Books from the Branches collection by Scholastic are a great addition to offer our students when they begin to work on their reading stamina and comprehension.
Our beginner chapter book readers are anxious to move to the 'chapter book' section of the library.
These books would offer a new variety with new and popular characters. Our students want to be strong readers and with the support of our staff and your donations to our project we can create long time readers.
