Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's no secret, our school is the home to the most thoughtful, caring, and loving students. The students genuinely enjoy coming to school and learning. This because of the hardwork and dedication of my co-workers and administration, and because of the generous donations that have been provided through DonorsChoose to countless classrooms in our school. Despite the language barriers, gaps in learning from not being able to attend school, family problems, and negative news media our students bring fun and beautiful energy to West Broadway Middle School everyday. I would like to continue creating classroom for Providence students at West Broadway Middle school to thrive.
"It takes a village"and I feel with your help we can continue creating a classroom where all students are engaged and focused on learning despite the difficult circumstances that they face on a daily basis.
Let's provide our students with a comfortable learning environment that they deserve so that they can feel empowered to learn better.
My Project
I would love to continue to create a warm and welcoming environment for my students. I will use the whiteboard Post-it paper to cover the broken whiteboard on the front wall of my classroom. The specific wall will be covered and used for me to post the classroom jobs for the students in each of my 5 classes. The whiteboard easel will be great for small groups of students to use and complete there math problems and hold discussions about their math problems.
The chairs were specially requested by the students!
When I asked students what items they would like the told me that they would like new classroom chairs. In honor of student voice and choice, I feel that this would be a wonderful surprise if we could offer the students brand new chairs!
The hand sanitizer, Chlorox wipes, and tissue is greatly needed. The supplies will prevent germs from spreading. I want students to be in school everyday! If the students are healthy and happy they will continue to learn more. I have had trouble keeping up with the supplies due to the cost and your help will be greatly appreciated.
