My students are accelerated learners in the second grade. Our school is located in a very high poverty area where many of our students are in shelters or homeless. It is heartbreaking.
My students' resolve and determination inspire me!
They know that learning all they can is the key to succeeding and pulling themselves up. They have seen more than their little minds should but instead of closing themselves off, they are striving to become more than their circumstances. They are my heroes!!
My students like being challenged! I want to challenge them with some hands-on engineering concepts.
You never know what is going to inspire a child but you know when it happens because it's electric!
My students need a set of Kapla blocks and a class set of storage sacks to help them with their introduction to engineering. The presentation cart will hold all of my classroom's instructive technology that I will use to teach them about the main principles of engineering. We will use the timer to keep track of time and the prizes as motivation.
My students will learn about testability, maintainability, integrity, ethics, and management as they collaborate to build their ideas. I can't wait to see what they can do!
