My class is full of unique personalities. They are creative, funny, dramatic, sweet and entertaining. Students in my class have ownership of their own learning and a lot of what goes on happens naturally. As a first year teacher, and my strong passion I have for all subject areas and my strong desire to share it with the kids, my class is definitely an engaging atmosphere. Having students eager about learning new things is a strong goal of mine.
Taking the time to know my students well, not just as learners, but also as people, has helped create a real sense of community inside of the classroom.
I care about my kids and they know that. No matter the obstacles they face, they strive to be the best they can be every single day.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a place they are going. In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting what we need! The notebooks will be used for each subject so that my students stay organized. They will have a notebook for reading, math, writing and science/social studies. The pencils will be used for my students so that they are able to write what they need to be successful into their notebooks. My students need folders so that they are able to have one specifically for homework, classwork and still a folder for work that they are still working on. This helps with preventing a cluttered and a messy desk.
The donations to this project will help to improve students' organizational skills as well as having all the supplies they need to ensure they are successful.
Most of my students came on the first day of school with no supplies. Their families were unable to purchase because of financial issues and being in a low socioeconomic school and having to provide for the majority of my class, it is hard to provide for every single student with my money and getting every supply they need to ensure they reach their highest potential. We need your help!
