Help me give my students some great school supplies like scented markers, erasable pens, and mechanical pencils to motivate them to persevere on their upcoming state testing.
I am a teacher of a wonderful third grade class in Nevada. We are all eager to learn how to read, write, and take the world on with excitement and enthusiasm!
One of the best ways to do this is to get students excited about learning.
Third graders are now reading to learn. I want to have a way for my students to show off what they have learned. Third graders work hard to complete writing and reading projects. They are beginning to complete more assignments on their own.
Now that we are heading into the last part of our third grade journey state testing is on the horizon. I need to keep my students motivated to give it their all!
My Project
My third graders will begin their state testing very soon. This is their first time taking high stakes tests and they are a little worried. I try to put their minds at ease, but I need a little help with motivation.
They have the skills, now help me put them at ease.
I would like to have some prizes that are fun and can be used in school for my students. My plan is on each testing day when students arrive at school they earn a ticket. During testing, students can earn more tickets by showing perseverance and testing strategies in the computer lab. At the end of testing each day, we will hold a drawing for prizes.
A little motivation in the way of new markers, mechanical pencils, and the chance to use an erasable pen in class can go a long way! Testing is no fun for teachers, students, or parents. We have to do it and I want to bring a little joy to the long process. My students work hard all year for this and they deserve a little reward. Thank you for helping my students know that their hard work is being recognized.
