My Students

One of our laptops has a broken monitor, but is otherwise working well and could be reused if there is an external LCD display. An what good is a computer if you can not enter data (hence the numeric keypad) and print your work on our soon to be inkless printer.

My students vary in ages from 13 to 15 and are highly academically motivated.

The majority are ethnic minorities, (Jewish, Asian, Black, Latino), who have excelled throughout their academic careers and managed to be selected to attend our school. Our school is an urban college preparatory school and these students have been selected through a rigorous selection process.

My Project

I am requesting 1) an LCD display to put back into use a laptop that has a broken LCD screen, 2) a numeric keyboard that can be used simply for entering numeric data, and 3) a printer cartridge for the printer. It is important to note that the keypad is much more portable during lab data entry. I am using this first as a pilot to decide whether to request a full class set.

The items requested here are important to ensure that students have full access to the technology that we already have available in the classroom.

Without the LCD display and print cartridges, an otherwise functioning computer and printer will go to waste.
