My students need balance ball chairs to occupy their bodies, keep focused, and allow them the movement they need to excel in an Early College program.

I have amazing students who are enrolled in an Early College Program. These students are ambitious enough to be dual-enrolled in high school and college at the same time. In five years, they will graduate with a high school diploma and an associate's degree.
Many of these students are the first in their family to attend college and may be unable to without the financial support and mentor-ship of this program.
15 years old? In college? This is a reality for students in the Early College Program.
These students have taken the initiative to begin college classes in high school. Early College students attend high school in the morning and college in the afternoon. Students success is helped by having a high school seminar class with a teacher. This same teacher goes to the college with them in order to meet their professors and be there to help them with the college transition.
Students have a classroom for Early College Seminar to work on their college assignments and learn study skills. After being asked to sit still for long lectures and college, they need the relief to move their bodies as they work.
With the addition of three balance ball chairs, students will have the opportunity to use the chairs while they are studying. All students learn differently and we have some students that do not benefit from the traditional classroom seating arrangements.
I want to make learning more enjoyable, and I think incorporating movement and alternative seating will do that!
This also allows students to feel like young adults by giving them the choice of seats for learning. Even though these students are in an advanced Early College program, they are still young teenagers that need to move their bodies in able to best learn.
