Our school is in a high poverty area. Our school is growing and we have many new students. First grade is different now than when we were in school. We know so many more things about how to challenge our students and prepare them for their future.
Engagement is key for our students.
We want them to be engaged in their learning so they stay in school and succeed! My school has focused on engagement in all of our classrooms. We want our students to learn and be successful and have fun at the same time.
My Project
These materials are going to make a big difference for my students. We have books for a listening center - but do not have a listening center to use! It is important for students who are learning to read to listen to reading. What better way than to have them listen to authentic and engaging children's literature. Six students will be able to listen at a time using this listening center.
Listening is a skill they will use their entire lives.
I want them to use these materials to keep focused on the books we will be reading. The staples are for our high powered stapler and can be used to repair books that have been loved on a lot by my students!
