Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
First off, let me tell you how many engineers are in my classroom! Sitting is overrated. My students like to build and set goals for their learning. My biggest challenge is not having the materials to do so!
I have 25 amazing third graders.
I work at a STEM school which is a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics driven school. We integrate all subjects including English Language Arts and Social Studies into our stem curriculum. We are starting a Lego robotics club and need more Lego bricks so that students can create and learn. My school is 3rd-6th grade and is full of active learners.
My Project
My students will be using the Lego bricks for engineering design challenges in the classroom. They will be able to build and create projects that they have drafted and written out. They also need binders and red pens for classroom materials. The binders will be for goal setting in reading, writing, math, and STEM. Students will be making individual goals that they will be able to grow in during this year. The red pens are for editing and correcting papers.
This project will make a HUGE difference in the classroom.
My students will be able to explore their imaginations by using the Lego bricks to engineer different engineering design challenges this school year. The binders will be for students to make goals and the Post-its to divide their goals by content area. This project will provide my students with more interactive resources for their learning.
