My students need a multi-sensory light table work area and manipulatives to learn reading ,math skills, and fine motor skills in an imaginative, creative, and exploratory way.

My students are curious, energetic, inquisitive, 4 year olds. We are a school family of 44 PK students divided into an AM and PM section . My students come from many different parts of the world and are speakers of other languages navigating in a world of English speakers. They are attending school for the first time and are acquiring English as a second or other language and require multi-sensory, hands-on learning activities with guidance and scaffolding.
Our school motto is preparing for Kindergarten and beyond and we continually strive to reach the goals set for us through a rich, play based learning environment that nurtures and encourages discovery.
My young learners eyes and voices light up when they enter the classroom and view the various learning areas and stations with bright colorful materials that stimulate learning.
These students joyfully explore reading, writing, mathematics, music, art, and physical education throughout our half day program on their journey to life long learning and success.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and are speakers of other languages. They are faced with not only a new country but are challenged with learning a new language as well. These young learners need to be engaged in fun, enticing lessons and use innovative materials to develop language, and math skills. Simple and well designed materials that capture and sustain their attention are a must.
This light table is a versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching various academic concepts.
Infusing this light table center and it's translucent manipulatives with opportunities for science, math, literacy, and writing will make it a powerhouse for learning.
Because of the gentle glow of the light from the table little ones work in the area for a long period of time and are stretching their attention span in a fun way which is a major goal of Preschool.
The light table is an essential tool in the development of young children and will encourage little learners in an inviting learning space.
