Charles Dickens wrote, "I love these little people and it is not a slight thing then they, who are so fresh from God love us." For many children, Pre-K is the first formal step in their academic career. It is an honor to teach our youngest learners as they begin this lifelong journey.
Our Pre-K class is a happy place where kids engage, explore, create, and problem-solve through purposeful play.
Center activities are designed around collaboration between students. Hands-on activities are planned with various sensory input giving students multiple avenues for learning.
At our school Pre-K is a full day and our class is bustling with 22 students. They are full of energy, noisy, funny, cute, and exhausting! Above all, they are little sponges that soak up all the learning I provide for them.
My Project
Pre-K students love to play with various transparent manipulatives; building, sorting, and exploring. The table is child size with a cool to the touch lighted surface, emitting a soft glow of one of four different colors. The best activities are ones that are inviting and stimulate their interest, building on their current knowledge while holding their attention.
Having a Light Table will add an exciting new dimension to number and alphabet activities while extending students' attention span.
Our kiddos will learn numeracy and literacy skills while completing projects on the lighted table. Exploring with light brings a whole new sensory dimension to these activities promoting higher levels of thought inquiry and skill acquisition.
