My Students

I teach Middle Schools students; specifically 8th grade students, but our entire building consists of 6th through 8th graders from all walks of life and backgrounds.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching at the middle school level, because I believe it is one of the most important times in our lives, as well as one of the most difficult.

It comes with a lot of emotions, discovery of themselves, and every bit of unexpected events you can image, but I LOVE IT!

My Project

One of the units that I cover throughout a school year includes: Sound & Light. This is one of our most exciting units because of the depth we go into learning about sound waves, light waves, and the Electromagnetic Spectrum. However, not all students enjoy the unit, based on the simple fact that they do not have the ability to see the entire visible light spectrum and have never experienced "true color" like most others.

It would be life changing for students unable to see color correctly to give them the ability to see color in its entirety; most for the first time in their lives!

By providing them with this opportunity, not only will they experience the same educational opportunities as those who have full visible light sight; it will also provide them with a life changing experience they will never forget!
