My Students

My kindergarten students enter school each year excited and ready to learn. Our school is a high poverty school and many of the entering kindergarteners lack basic literacy knowledge. I am looking for fun and interactive ways to keep their attention and overcome the achievement gap so that all of my students can be successful.

My students enjoy opportunities to have fun while learning and learn information in an exciting atmosphere.

We are always looking for innovative and imaginative ways to present information in a hands-on and challenging way.

My Project

A light table can be used to enhance literacy, math, and writing skills in fun and playful ways. Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and tend to stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching those budding attention spans. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to give my students the chance to explore on their own. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to build a child's knowledge and I believe that this light table and manipulatives will help in so many ways, especially with motor skills, math skills and communication skills.
