We're eager to read new books in our 4th grade classroom but we're missing one thing...the books!
I am a 4th grade teacher in an inclusion classroom in Hawaii.
My students are eager to read and learn new things, but we don't have very many literature circle sets for them to read. Many of my students come from low income families and don't have books on their shelves at home. They read at a variety of levels ranging from low second grade to high fifth grade and are anxious to have sets of books to read in our classroom. They are inspired and ready to read!
My Project
Just last month, I introduced my students to literature circles, a fun and exciting way to read new books, talk about it with peers, and enjoy the adventure that a novel has to offer! My students are intrigued and are wanting for more! But we have only a small selection of novels to do so. I am graciously asking that you donate to my project so that my students can have collections of Roald Dahl, Beverly Cleary, The Magic Tree House Series, and more!
This project will not only help my students this year, but will be able to help many classes in further years.
The joy of reading will spread to many other classes. Instilling the love for reading is such an important part of my job as a teacher. I would like to invite you to help me light that fire for my students. They are deserving and ready to read!
