My Students

I am excited to start a new year, with new ideas, and new kiddos! My new second grade students are a group of enthusiastic children ready to dive in to second grade. They are a diverse group of students coming from many backgrounds.

This specific class is full of energy and have a love for learning through hands on activities.

I want to bring activities to this class that introduce them to STEM and help open their items to new things.

My Project

I am excited to bring the world of STEM to my classroom this year. This project will allow my students to become little engineers and scientists. Having a variety of building sets in the classroom will allow the children to learn how to build better products. They can start with an idea, build it, try it, and then change and create more effective versions. They will also have the opportunity to research their ideas, through the collection of STEM books. This is the first step of bringing the Next Generation of Science Standards to my classroom, and I can't wait!
