Our students are an amazing group of 3,4, and 5 year olds. They are caring and strong minded individuals who deserve only the best. Our classroom is a place where everyone feels comfortable being themselves and taking risks. Our classroom community is built around safety and a love for learning.
The elementary that I work at is a Title I school.
Many of our students are faced with several challenges in and out of the classroom. We have many students who receive special donations because of their family situations. Despite their challenges, I am dedicated to providing my students with as many meaningful hands on, minds on experiences as possible in order to increase their learning.
My student are very energetic and always excited to learn. Every day that we come to school, they are ready to learn. As a teacher, I can not change their home life, but I can do everything in my power to give them the best experiences at school. I make it a priority to inspire and educate every day.
Daily, our students have the option to choose a learning center of their choice in order to promote and encourage learning.
Our class is full of visual learners who love technology.
Some of the options they have are the listening center and computer.
In these centers, they are able to listen and develop language skills. The headsets will allow students to use technology with minimal distractions when they participate in the free choice centers that require listening and comprehension skills.
In our classroom, we encourage language skills by modeling one on one, group settings, and also in our free choice centers. Our students are visual learners, and we use images throughout our classroom daily to help students gain a deeper understanding. Most of our students benefit when we present new material visually. I usually have to print color photos for our kids from home. Having a printer in the classroom will allow for a seamless lesson that that will help us in reaching the needs of all learners.
Children gain the most knowledge when they are actively engaged. With these materials, all students will be given more opportunities for learning.
