My Students

All children, not just my students, are dreamers. Our county is in rural WV and many families have limited resources for travel. Internet service is weak in many local areas, so books are an important way for these dreamers to travel. If they learn what the possibilities are there is nothing they can't do. Covid has limited direct library access for our children.

My Project

Students in this low income rural area do not have a lot of books at home. Education is not valued in all families. But students who read become better readers, and students who have quality literature at their fingertips not only read but they experience the possibilities available to them when they aspire to dream. The sum total of my goal is to create a classroom library that has multiple copies of popular but quality literature so students will not have to wait for others to finish books that may inspire them.
