My first grade students are an amazing group of individuals. They are creative, passionate, and very inquisitive. My class is a very diverse bunch. They represent a mixture of learning styles, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. These diversities have not hindered my students from growing and learning together as a community. They are accepting of each other's differences and find beauty in their own uniqueness.
Each day in our class is a new adventure full of things to discover and explore.
We have the most fun learning through engaging activities. The students love to explore the world and learn new skills with hands on activities that allows them to move their bodies.
My classroom is very student centered. The method and environment my students learn in is designed to meet each students learning styles. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies like small group work, reading clubs, math centers, and alternative seating. This ensures that each student's learning needs are met. I enjoy what I do, but knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of my students is what makes the work I do more meaningful!
My Project
Not a day goes by that I don’t hear my students talk about Roblox and Minecraft. It is safe to say that Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are an ever-growing entity in our kids' lives. By providing students with meaningful STEM experiences, I hope to prepare my students for future successes.
Osmo is a great hands-on tool that will help bring coding to life in the hands of my students.
It is essential that I provide students with these experiences at school to harness their creativity, spark imagination and curiosity.
To help achieve my students' highest potential, they need greater access to technology that will allow them to explore and create through hands-on experiences. Using play based technology in Osmo Coding Starter Kits will help to foster academic growth, creativity, and excitement.
