My Students

The Performing Arts Department at our school is divided into several distinct sections: the bands including Red Dragon Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Steel Band and Percussion Ensemble; the choirs including Mixed Chorus and the Canterbury Choir; String Orchestra; the Drama Club and Music and Audio Production.

Our student performers are the musical ambassadors for the school, the district, the community and sometimes even the State of Delaware!

Even though the majority of students come from a background of low income, the students at our school work very hard to overcome that and become outstanding musicians, actors and producers.

My Project

We've been slowly building up our Audio Production program at our school with microphones, mixers, cables and other hardware. It's been great as we start getting a basic studio together and everything in our own little classroom sounds pretty good.

My students are looking to move outside our classroom studio now, and that means we need a way to record professional audio at school events or in conjunction with video.

I envision sending students on assignment to meet with other students, administrators, teachers or coaches for interviews, get audio from concerts and plays, and record video with professional audio at sporting events.
