My Students

I teach music at 3 schools, providing music education for over 800 students grades TK-8th. By the time students are in 7th and 8th grade my hope is to provide them with quality and meaningful performance experiences. These performance opportunities will inspire and encourage them to pursue music education after middle school.

When students perform for audiences, they proudly have the opportunity to demonstrate everything they have learned in the classroom.

My goal is to provide them with as many opportunities to perform in my program because they may not have access to music programs outside school.

My Project

My students work so hard to learn beautiful choral music for our concerts. When performance night arrives, we know we have one chance to show everyone our musical achievements. The only problem is that we perform in a cafeteria where the acoustics are not appropriate for vocal music (choral and ukulele). People who attend our concerts have a hard time hearing our softer songs.

If we have area microphones, our voices can be better amplified through the room creating a more enjoyable experience for our audience.

More importantly, my students will gain more confidence performing.

We also can sing at outside events such as 8th Grade Commencement and Open House.
