My Students

My students are a great group of strong kids who come from difficult backgrounds. I work at a Title I urban school with students from various backgrounds and home situations. My classroom is composed of students who are English Language Learners, as well as, students who need additional assistance with meeting academic goals. Because this school is very diverse, I want each student to feel represented.

All the students at this school receive free breakfast and lunch.

These students come to school every day with smiles on their faces! They are excited to learn and want to excel. My goal is to provide them with the best education possible!

My Project

These headphones will make a difference in my students' learning. They love recording their voices on Screencastify. In order to do that, we need a strong microphone that will cancel outside noise and pick up the student's voice. Using the Chromebook microphone isn't strong enough to pick up their voices.

Allowing the students to record themselves helps them identify areas of strengths and weaknesses and learn to be better presenters.

Without the recording, students might not pick up on things they might not have noticed. We use Screencastify to record math word problems, fluently read passages, read student's writing, etc. Students really enjoy being able to present their work to their peers. It also gives their peers excellent examples!
