I am excited to tell you all about my hard-working, motivated, caring students. Who with my encouragement believe they can save the world! Yes, they ride the bus to school, may not have breakfast or lunch on the weekends if my school doesn't send food home with them. Not own a new pair of sneakers. Struggle to read on grade but you will never meet a kinder, more giving, determined group of students.
As challenging as it gets, I am honored to be their teacher.
This year has taught me so many things. None as important as the lessons I have learned from my students.
The working environment I have to provide is one that I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, small group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each of my student's needs is met all while keeping them safe.
I am working to provide a meaningful, motivating environment that encourages the success of each one of them.
Some of the many ways I work to encourage and improve my students reading and writing are starting from the bottom up ensuring they know the fundamentals in order to be able to figure out how to reach the top.
Having fun, engaging story books that increase vocabulary, improve spelling, challenges that develop grammar and structure skills, inspiring prompts, and story creation lessons that spark imaginations are all part of the lesson planning.
Understanding phonics and reading comprehension helps students in many other areas of learning. Reading, writing and drawing will encourage the joy of literacy for my students.
