This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is a great group of students. They are a mixture of black, Hispanic and white all coming from a high poverty area. My students attend a Title 1 school and work hard to overcome many obstacles.
My students are an awesome group of kids who love coming to school and learning new things.
As a way of learning we work in small groups with hands-on-materials. This helps the kids make connections while learning social skills.
Several of my students are in tier reading and math which provides them even more support. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a struggling student grasp a concept and walk away with a smile on their face.
My Project
Writing is a daily activity in our classroom, but many of our students come to school not knowing how to hold a pencil or write their name. As a teacher I want learning to always be exciting. With a table top light and tracing cards students will be able to practice fine motor skills while learning their alphabet.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve students’ writing skills, but you will help to make it fun and exciting to better keep their attention and want to practice more.
Technology is a very big part of the education system and, while that is great, students still need to learn the pencil/paper method, this will be their way of learning that concept while having fun.
