My Students

I teach third grade at a Title I school in Virginia. My students are all unique and bring different experiences and personalities to our classroom. We love learning each day and expanding our minds by being historians, scientists, mathematicians, writers, and readers.

My students love reading their books out loud to themselves.

The readers in my classroom span multiple reading levels with interests in both fictional and non-fictional texts. I would love to give them more tools to help support their reading.

My Project

During our class reading rotations, students have time to read independently. These materials will come in handy for students during this time. They will provide my students the opportunity to focus in on their reading skills while also motivating them to read more. The whisper phones will allow students the ability to read books independently as well as out loud without disturbing their peers. The trackers will help students stay on track as they read and keep them from skipping lines. The non-fiction cards will help us focus on specific skills that target comprehension of texts. It is my hope that these materials help promote independent reading among my students.
