My Students

My students are in the age group 11-13 and love to do hands-on and engaging activities in science. They are curious and like to use real tools and devices to collect data. We are a school of science and technology and integrate STEAM in our units. Weather and Meteorology is one of our major units in sixth grade.

I would like my students to use tools as real scientists do and meteorologists use!

Students will collect and analyze data on relative humidity in their science classroom.

My Project

My students are learning about different weather tools, and it would be great for them to use a sling psychrometer to measure relative humidity. Students learn the most by doing and this would give them a great opportunity to use a tool they may not have seen.

Students would be excited to use a weather tool and collect data and share their findings!

Some students may find it difficult to understand relative humidity, and this would provide them with a better learning experience.

Using real weather tools will help my students act as real meteorologists and make connections between weather and how it impacts them!
