This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from the most diverse school in the city. They have a variety of ethnic groups, classes, educational backgrounds, and learning styles. We are also honored to have a variety of abilities. We serve students with multiple physical, mental, and emotional impairments. Our students have a chance to learn with a true snapshot of humanity.
My students have the joy to learn.
In the midst of water issues, budget cuts, and buildings closing, my students are determined to learn. There is low morale among students and staff. The impact of these conditions is deeply impacting learning; yet, they are working to overcome these odds and become successful.
My Project
Students are in need of practicing reading and writing, as well as other content during quarantine. However, most don't have access to devices and software. However, if they can use a phone, they can easily get to Flocabulary.com.
Your support will allow them to explore any topic with rhymes, beats, and literacy check points.
A subscription to their site allows students to easily remember new vocabulary, as they have fun and effectively advance their ELA skillset across contents. They will build their core academic skills while learning to create their own lyrics. Now that's learning!
