Let It Snow!

Help me give my students appropriate winter clothing so we can continue to learn and play outdoors all year!

My Students

I have so many students each year who come to school ready to learn and wanting to do their best. Many of these same children come from families that are unable to provide them with the materials and experiences necessary for them to succeed in school.

My classes are comprised of a wide range of learners and personalities.

Many of my students function below grade level. My school has a 98% African American population and 97% of our families qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

My Project

We are in need of snow pants, boots, and mittens! Many of our students do not come to school with winter appropriate clothing making it impossible to play outside during the winter months. With your help, these supplies will allow us to continue playing outside even after the snow falls.

Outdoor time is crucial to helping children develop their gross motor skills.

Shoveling, building snowmen, and sledding will improve cooperation and social skills among the children. As an added bonus, they will also be developing their self-help skills of dressing and undressing with these winter items.

Lastly, these supplies will help all students learn to love the great outdoors! Some of my favorite school memories were playing outside in the snow! I want my students to be able to have the same great experiences. Thank you so much for your continued support.
