This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are compassionate, curious and energetic 4-5-year-old preschool students who love to learn. They ask lots of questions and enjoy researching to seek answers to their questions. I teach preschool in a diverse inner-city elementary school.
My students are curious and love to explore.
My students love being outside, building with legos and coding with robots and exploring with magnets. They really enjoy learning and they love school. My students are learning a second language which includes either French, Spanish, Japanese or Chinese.
My Project
Many of my students are considered homeless due to the fact that they do not have their own dwelling, even though they may live with family members or friends. My students are in need of snow pants and gloves for the frigid temperature in our area. We are required to go outside twice a day for an hour each time, but in the winter time when the temperatures drop the students are still required to go outside. Often times the students complain about being cold due to not being properly dressed.
Children often times walk or catch the bus to school without the proper outwear in the winter months in our region.
