Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school wanting to learn more each day. They love setting goals for themselves throughout the school. Our school is a Title I school located in a low-socioeconomic area. Some of the students at our school are experiencing homelessness. Many of their parents work very hard to provide as much as they can. Sometimes work can be hard to find in our area. Still, they do their best to provide the needs of their children.

My students enjoy learning.

They come to school with smiles on their faces ready to take on each day's lessons. They love working together with their classmates. Even though their struggles, they want to learn. I want my students to be able to get the best education, no matter where they live or who they are.

My Project

Unfortunately, the copier printer that we have in our classroom is slowly dying down. My students and I have a need for scanning documents. The scanner is no longer scanning clearly. Our images become distorted during scanning. We cannot use the top feeder to make copies to share with our teammates during group work because it causes lines to go down the middle.

Being able to print out our work that we have created digitally is important to be able share within our classroom and to be able to display in the hallway.

This allows our fellow student body to see the progress we are making throughout the year.
