My Students
The school is located in the central-west section in the city. My students are from an urban low income community that, that hosts a population of Hispanics, Africans, African Americans, and other Caribbean nationalities. There are several languages spoken in the community which includes English, Spanish, French and a variety of native languages from Africa. Over forty percent (40%) of the population were born in a foreign country.
My students are as diverse as the community they live in.
They all have special needs and their disabilities include, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and autism. They are enthusiastic and eager to achieve as their peers would. They learn best when they are engaged with a variety of materials.
My Project
There are two types of students in my classroom. Students, whose parents have to go work during this pandemic and they spend their day at a daycare with other children or they are at home and have pets or other siblings at home who are also learning online. There is one thing they all have in common.
My students have a lot of distractions in their environment and would do well with these headphones.
I would love if my students could receive the headphones to limit the background noise that is distracting them.
