Help me give my students a classroom library. We have an advisory period that has a changing theme each day. Mondays are "Read a Book" Monday and this library will be a great addition to my classroom.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

VHS is the home to some wonderful students in the Milwaukee area.

Our students have faced many challenges and continue to make strides to find success.

They have a lot of enthusiasm, but may not have the means to purchase the needed supplies.

Many of my students have academic deficiencies and we strive to improve their skills on a daily basis. With the help of community members, we can close the achievement gap that we currently face. My students have goals and dreams that can be realized with a little help from us.

My Project

My students have Advisory 30 minutes per day. Each day of the week has a different theme and Mondays are "Read a Book Monday."

Every Monday starts with a chance for students to develop a love and passion for reading.

Many of my students do not have books at home and are developing readers.

This library will be a resource for my students that don't go to the public library or the library here at school. Our school library is only open on Wednesdays and our students don't always have a chance to check out a book.

With this project my students will always have a book to read!
