Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently a third grade teacher to amazing students in a low income community. I have the same students from last year because I was given the opportunity to loop with them. I am so thankful for that! We are having a fabulous year! Aside from being in the Class Champions and Coyotes Reading program, they are students that strive to be their best selves each day. They set high standards for themselves and push themselves to be their very best each day. We are an extremely close classroom with much to celebrate.
My Project
These materials will help to foster my students' interest and enhancement of STEM in the classroom. I constantly tell my third graders that many jobs in the future will involve STEM. The best way to prepare students for the future is to foster interest at a young age. These Lego materials will allow students to create blueprints and build specific projects that align with Arizona state standards. I have watched students use these materials with enthusiasm and high engagement! I see teamwork in the use of the materials as well, which plays into having a positive classroom community. My students would love these materials!
