This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are super kind and rock a sense of humor. They are not afraid to laugh & have fun even when our work is tough, especially while practicing letter names & sounds. We get up & dance it out when we need a brain break!

My Project

Students need a variety of opportunities to learn letters and sounds. Studies show retention is higher when learning is combined with exploration of manipulatives. We need more than 1 set to keep in line with our Covid-19 guidelines. Students would add this activity to their independent/ small group work. This will serve as another part of building our foundation of literacy while strengthening fine motor skills. We have many ESL learners, so this activity will also help with reinforcing language building for these students as well as practice for English speakers.
