Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in New York. Most of our students come from low-income families. Our class is an ICT (integrated co-teaching) classroom which provides supports to students with disabilities. The disabilities range from speech-language to autism. An ICT classroom has both general education students and special education students who work in groups to help each other. We use all the resources that are possible and given to us to help our students make progress.
Our students work hard with all the resources and materials that are provided to them daily.
We enjoy seeing our students working together in partnerships.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to work in partnerships and create things with LEGO's. They will be able to be creative and learn how to work together. My students will build figures and debug any problems that they might face together. My students will use LEGO's to collect data. They will use it for many different activities that we will have throughout the school year. Computer science is very important for my students because they will be the future problem solvers of the world. It will be wonderful to get these materials to help them be successful in learning the basics and sparking their love for computer science.
These creative LEGO's will help them get started on solving problems and working with others to debug problems.
These materials will help my students grow as problem solvers through computer science and partnerships.
